Chef Brenton joins Innovation Barn, bringing a dynamic perspective and passion for sustainability. His culinary career has consistently emphasized eco-friendly practices, both in and out of the kitchen. Previously, Brenton co-owned a Charlotte-based business for 10 years, focused on farm-to-table concepts, promoting local businesses, farms, brewers, and producers. At home, Brenton strives for a sustainable homestead with gardens, chickens, artisanal bread, jams, and vinegars. He enjoys outdoor adventures with his wife and daughter and has lovingly restored a 1972 camper for family getaways. Now, Brenton is eager to integrate his sustainable approach at Innovation Barn, driving positive change one step at a time

Genesis recently joined the Canteen team as the Catering Director at the Innovation Barn in Charlotte. Genesis is a Johnson & Wales University graduate and brings over eighteen years of food service experience to her role. Here experience incudes working in all sectors of food service including fast casual to fine dining, hotels to retirement homes and even hospitals. Genesis is a New Jersey native and dog mom.
In her new role, Genesis will be overseeing all catering and food service operations at the Charlotte Innovation Barn as part of our new unique partnership with Envision Charlotte. This new operation will provide catering for on-site events, off-site catering opportunities for our Charlotte area clients and act as a training facility for new Canteen managers and team members.
